WHO is Reforestation?

We are an independent organization. We are taking the necessary steps to become a registered non-profit association (under the French law of 1901) within the next few months. Ultimately, we would like to obtain foundation status. In the meantime, we are not sitting idly by. We are undertaking numerous initiatives with complete freedom so that everyone feels empowered to take action. Action alone will be our motivation!

What is their goal?

Reforestation is a global issue because it offers a solution to the upheaval our lives will face due to the climate change that awaits us. Indeed, if we all take local action to reforest our countryside and cities, we can control global warming. Our actions, however small, will contribute to the hundreds of initiatives around the world and contribute to the success of this operation.

Do you think there are already organizations that do this very well?

That's true, but our particularity lies in the fact that we replant hedges, shrubs, trees but only fruit and wild ones , we sow the soils with robust and wild vegetables to nourish the soils and people, we raise awareness among the population to return to the fundamentals of natural cycles using ancestral techniques. All this is possible and all this will also require a sensitivity from individuals and companies.

What are Reforestation's actions?

- To put pressure on local and national decision-makers to obtain an ambitious program for reforestation and enrichment of the local, national and why not global biotope!

- To finance directly and act in the reforestation of our planet by acquiring trees and shrubs and planting them directly on their preferred land.

- To enable companies and individuals to "offset carbon" and generate a "CARBON BUDGET" to reduce immediately or in the near future, as significantly as possible, the environmental impact due to greenhouse gas emissions by "reforesting" and replanting trees or plants.

- To raise awareness in order to unite and bring together teams of volunteers to carry out reforestation actions.

The hopes and objectives of Reforestation?

On its own scale, to participate in the great global reforestation effort. To enable Panter Création's clients, individuals and businesses, and donors to reduce or eliminate their carbon footprint in the short, medium, and long term. To increase the reforestation of wild fruit trees to allow people and wildlife to feed themselves freely and without constraint.

How is reforestation funded?

- The financing of the actions is directly financed through donations that Panter creation (1 survival course place purchased = €1 donated) collects from its customers.

Donations are also welcome.

Why choose Reforestation?

- Simple, direct and transparent financing.

- 100% of the funds raised are used to buy and plant trees.

We draw inspiration from

The Akira Miyawaki Method

This allows for the planting of primary forests. Based on the study of a region's biodiversity, this approach is bearing fruit with 40 million trees replanted daily.

Akira Miyawaki is a 90-year-old Japanese botanist, expert in plant biology, and professor at Yokohama National University. He has implemented the "senzai shizen shokysei" reforestation method, which means "natural potential vegetation." This system involves several stages. A selection is made from a variety of native plants in a region. The seeds are then germinated and planted in nurseries, in a random arrangement to recreate natural biodiversity. When the plants reach two meters (after three years), they are planted out. The soil is also fertilized beforehand with natural materials (bark, decomposing plants).

Miyawaki's method, while costly and time-consuming, has proven more effective than traditional reforestation methods. It allows for better root development and therefore greater resistance to extreme weather conditions. The new "virgin forests" grow faster thanks to the interaction between plants and are 30 times denser, enabling them to absorb more CO2. Finally, once planted, they require no further human intervention.

At a time when it is estimated that 6 million hectares of primary forests disappear each year, this sophisticated system has already been implemented on 1,300 sites in Japan, as well as in more than 15 other countries such as Thailand and China. In Belgium, many associations are following the botanist's example to re-vegetate industrial areas, and similar initiatives are taking place in France.

Fruit tree planting in Colombia

We were lucky enough to go trekking in the Sierra Nevada and meet the Kogi people....

We took the opportunity to plant mango trees along our path, which will bear fruit in just three or four years. This part of the forest was cut down for the daily needs of the inhabitants, but a general awareness, driven by our local operator (Turcol), is growing. EVERY TURCOL CLIENT coming on the Lost City trek can, or should, plant a fruit tree! A wonderful initiative that is already yielding its first results...
