Survival Academy

Level 3.0 training

Duration: 8 days

Location: Sarlat (Périgord Noir 24200)

DAY 1

9:00 AM Welcome and introductions (coffee provided)

7 hours of basic First Aid training (PSC)

Essential basic training to gain the fundamental skills needed to effectively manage everyday emergencies.

 

You will cover the eight key points for managing a crisis:

 

- Protection

- Alerting emergency services

- The victim is choking, what to do?

 

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Lunch break with coffee provided

- The victim is bleeding (risk of hemorrhage)

- The victim is unconscious but breathing (recovery position)

- The victim is not breathing (CPR)

- The victim is fainting

- The victim has an injury (burn, broken bones or joints, wound, etc.)

You will be introduced to immediately performing first aid on a person in distress and to reducing risks.

DAYS 2 & 3

9:00 AM Breakfast

2 days of basic training at SEMN (Specialized Emergency Medical Training Center)

In total immersion in nature, for 36 hours, you will be made aware of and trained in the correct actions and attitudes should a member of your group or one of your clients suffer a serious injury such as a wound, fracture, severe bleeding, burn, sprain, bite, sting, etc.

 

You will also learn how to:

 

- Provide long-term care such as wound cleaning, bandaging, etc.

 

- Find solutions and procedures for transporting, evacuating, and exfiltrating victims from a wilderness environment.

 

- Prioritize, triage, and manage multiple accident victims.

 

- Understand group dynamics and the importance of the leader's responsibility within the group. - Use satellite communication and other technologies to be located and signal your distress.

All modules and workshops will be followed by a practical exercise closely resembling real-life conditions for realistic and instructive application.

DAY 4

Developing a general strategy

Assessing your emotional intelligence level

(Individual and group validation test)

Afternoon: Presentation of essential rules

to avoid ever finding yourself in a survival situation:

Mastering essential techniques

Meticulous preparation

The impact of good reconnaissance

Choosing equipment

The importance of having a plan B (rescue, etc.)

(Individual and group validation test)

 

Late afternoon: ORIENTATION AND MOVEMENT

Orientation with reconnaissance and movement with

and without a map and compass.

Real-life simulation.

Recognition and signaling methods: listing unconventional methods for locating and signaling emergencies.

10:00 PM Overnight stay in a basic, covered space (bring your own sleeping bag)

 

Day 5

Morning: BUILDING A SHELTER

Theoretical explanations with diagrams, models, plans, etc.

Practical work:

For over 3 hours, our instructors will show you how to build an effective shelter with minimal equipment and materials. The shelters built will be evaluated.

 

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Lunch break

 

Afternoon: MAKING A FIRE in all circumstances without matches or a lighter. Our instructors will show you how to create a flame in any environment. Practical work followed by an evaluation test.

 

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Dinner

 

Evening: Free time or night walk in the woods

 

Day 6

Morning: HOW TO PRODUCE DRINKING WATER:

Theoretical explanations with diagrams, models, plans, etc.

Practical exercises: Our instructors will share key tips for producing a large quantity of drinking water

from contaminated or salt water.

 

HOW TO RECOGNIZE EDIBLE PLANTS AND AVOID POISONOUS ONES: During a short excursion, using photographs (depending on the season), you will learn to identify edible and poisonous plants in our countryside.

Afternoon: TRAPPING AND EATING

Butchering and preparing meat.

Basic knot tying and rope making.

 

7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Dinner

 

Evening: FIRST AID SKILLS

First aid awareness, how to react in a medical emergency, etc.

Building a stretcher and other techniques for transporting injured people.

 

Day 7

Full day:

Exam (Phase 1)

FULL SCENARIO!

During an accident, you find yourself completely disoriented in the wilderness. With your newfound knowledge, you will be able to manage to ensure your survival and wait for or reach rescuers.

 

Evening: Bivouac in the forest (dinner consisting solely of foraged and hunted fruits).

 

Our instructors will not intervene and will let you manage the situation. They will assess your ability to react and act in challenging situations.

 

Day 8

Morning: Return to the farm with complimentary coffee

Exam (Phase 2)

Assessment of skills acquired during the training through a survival simulation. Trainees will have to solve several problems and work together to escape a survival situation in order to pass the exam.

13:30 Training debriefing and certificate presentation

"Master Class"

 

The "Master Class" will take place over a full week and will be divided into several specific modules. These will be taught and led by top specialists from Denis Tribaudeau's team. You will see numerous speakers sharing their expertise, techniques, and tips to help you get out of a critical situation.

More than 50 hours of theoretical and practical lessons will be provided in a relaxed but serious atmosphere within our quiet base camp surrounded by greenery.

Practical application will be achieved through regular simulations. Finally, a two-day (one-night) total immersion in a natural environment will be offered to put your survival techniques into real-world application.

Throughout your training, assessments will be conducted and each participant will be graded. Completed modules will be submitted for validation by our instructors. At the end of your week, you will receive a recognized certificate, a valuable qualification in the outdoor activities sector.
