Route and general information
You will discover the windswept highlands. A mix of mountains and high plateaus, located in the heart of this vast, sparsely populated country, you will be immersed in adventure with a capital A! Here, there is no tourist overcrowding, only volcanic craters, rocky deserts, waterfalls, and breathtaking landscapes. Your objective during these four days of survival is to reach Route 1 in the south of the country. More than just a trip, we offer you an off-the-beaten-path adventure, a return to the essentials in a dreamlike setting. You will end your journey awestruck by the wonders of the Golden Circle: Geysir, Gullfoss, and Thingvellir. At the end of the course, you will be accommodated in comfortable local lodgings.
Iceland
Survival course on the lands of the people
TYPICAL ITINERARY (subject to change)
Day 1 "Go to Iceland": Flight to Keflavik, then transfer to Reykjavick for a quick acclimatization. Evening and dinner at leisure.
Day 2 "Transfer to the Highlands": After a free morning to explore the Icelandic capital and lunch, we'll head towards the center of the island to discover its raw and magnificent nature and some remarkable historical sites. We'll reach our remote refuge and prepare for the start of the survival course. Dinner and overnight stay in the refuge.
Day 3 "Total Immersion": Let the adventure begin amidst pristine and breathtaking landscapes. Iceland will gradually reveal all its secrets so you can find what you need to survive. You'll learn to navigate with a map and compass, choose your course, find water and purify it, gather edible plants... before reaching your first campsite. The evening around the campfire will take place in an idyllic setting. Overnight stay and dinner will be provided solely by the resources you gathered during the day.
Day 4 "Total Immersion Continued": Another day of trekking and exploring the natural environment. The goal of the day remains focused: reaching Route 1 leading south. Still surrounded by pristine plains and hills, you will become one with nature and work as a group to set up camp and build your fire using whatever you have on hand (no lighter). In the evening, as night falls, the sky will come alive with billions of stars, providing an opportunity to learn how to navigate by the stars. Overnight stay and dinner will be provided solely by the resources you have available.
Day 5 "Total Immersion Continued": Another day of discovery and total immersion in the heart of pristine, wild nature. You will begin to approach your extraction site, and team cohesion will be stronger than ever! This new Robinson Crusoe-like existence will be an opportunity to reflect on our habits and the luxuries of modern life. Last night in a bivouac, with a simple dinner if nature allows!
Day 6 "Total Immersion Continued": A true return to basics for a true return to civilization! Route 1 is in sight, and the excitement of having completed the trek and persevered will fill you with joy. You'll meet your vehicle, which will take you to accommodation just off the road, where a basic (but incredibly comfortable) bed and a simple (but incredibly delicious) meal await you.
Day 7 "Return to the Capital": You'll have time to recover and buy souvenirs in the beautiful city center of Reykjavik. You can enjoy beers and eat wherever you like with your new adventure companions. Overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 8 "Return to France": Transfer and return flight Keflavik/Paris.
Note: Your guide may need to modify the itinerary due to logistical constraints (particularly transportation and accommodation), weather conditions, the participants' skill level, or any other reason related to group safety.
If necessary, it is possible to leave the group and be transported back to Reykjavik by 4x4 during the course (repatriation and associated costs are your responsibility).

Internship testimonials

Testimonials from the "natural environment" internship
"The traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he came to see."
Gilbert Keith Chesterton

"Nothing is more beautiful than the intellectual challenge and the adventure of not knowing what to expect! But what a wonderful surprise: breathtaking landscapes, perfect guidance, and immense expertise and interpersonal skills. Thank you all for your professionalism and your ability to adapt to the group. Nothing was done hastily; everything was discussed and decided together with kindness and compassion. Pure bliss!!"
Michèle

I felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie, only with the added wind and cold. I never thought I'd experience something like that! Iceland is a beautiful country that you absolutely must visit. Camping in the highlands offers incredibly beautiful landscapes and breathtaking scenery. Thank you so much for everything you do and for the experiences you give us.
Kevin

Authenticity and true values are earned! I reached my limits, and thanks to all of you, and especially you, Denius Tribaudeau, I found the means to push myself further and see this adventure through to the end. The landscapes, the Icelandic women, the lakes and rivers, the colors are incredible. I don't regret coming to experience such an adventure with you! I've come away from it enriched and a little disheveled! See you very soon in another corner of the world.
